Mary Feldman
1928-2007
Services were held Saturday in Richmond, Mich., for Leelanau County native Mary “Marie” Feldman of Detroit who died March 7 at St. Johns River District Hospital. She was 78.
She was born April 2, 1928, in Leelanau County, to Michael and Regina (Brzezinski) Galla. On April 29, 1950, at Holy Rosary Church in Isadore, she married Felix “Sam” Feldman, who preceded her in death in 1979.
She retired in 1993 from Fisher Dynamics where she worked in quality control. She was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Detroit and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Diane and Patrick Hamlett of Chapel Hill, N.C., Denise Dubay of Lake Orion, Felix “Sam” and Cheryl Feldman of Richmond, Sharon Feldman of Seattle, Wash., Sue and Thomas Vitale of Salinas, Calif., Linda and Manuel Medina of Chesterfield Township, and Ronald and Jan Feldman of Hazel Park; siblings, Alvena Popa of East Pointe, Esther Crocker of Suttons Bay, Susan Strobbe of St. Clair Shores, Steven and Joyce Galla of Traverse City, Leo and Loretta Galla of Maple City, Walter and Margaret Galla of Cedar, Tony and Georgetta Galla of Cedar, and John and Virginia Galla of Cedar; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Popa; and brothers, Paul and Donald Galla.
