Private family services will be held at a later date for former Leelanau County resident Sally Holman who died March 6 at Bortz Healthcare of Traverse City. She was 53.

She was born Dec. 12, 1953, in Dayton Ohio, to Franklin W. Rowland of Leland, who survives, and the late Martha A. (Rice) Rowland.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she overcame a mental handicap to live on her own. She enjoyed music and cross-stiching.

Also surviving are her sister, Kathy (Gary) Twomey and brother, Frank (Mary Beth) Rowland, both of Bloomfield; and five nieces and nephews.
