Sophia C. Sharp

1912-2007

Services were held Tuesday at the Holy Rosary Parish of Isadore for Cedar native Sophia Caroline Sharp who died March 16 at Cherry Hill Haven in Traverse City. She was 94.

She was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Cedar, the daughter of Michael Stanislaus Rosinski and Helen Clara Odoi. On July 25, 1947, in Chicago, she married David Qual Sharp who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1996.

She was a graduate of Traverse City High School and Ferris State University. She started work at the State Bank of Cedar then moved on to Detroit area banks. She then spent 30 years working for General Motors Corporation at its proving grounds. She loved to travel the world and moved back to the Traverse City area in 2003 to be near family.

She is survived by six nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Klemens Rosinski; a sister, Irene Phillips; and two nephews.
