1928-2007
A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday in Hastings for former Leelanau County seasonal resident Bernadette Mae Doyle of Hastings who died March 19 at Hastings Tendercare. She was 78.

She was born on May 29, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Novakoski) Uzarski. On June 26, 1948, she married James Doyle who died on Nov. 26, 2003.

She and her husband were campground hosts for Leelanau State Park for 11 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and St. Rose Church Guild in Hastings.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (David) Dilno, Patricia (Frederick) Morse and Kevin Doyle; a brother, Donald (Lena) Uzarski; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerard Uzarski.
