A funeral service will be held tomorrow, March 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude Church in Northport for Julie Murphy Rothaug of Northport who died March 24 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She was 67.

She was born March 1, 1940, the daughter of Robert W. Murphy and Frances Caddy. On July 1, 1961, in Riverside, Ill., she married Paul G. Rothaug, who survives.

She grew up in Illinois. Following college she raised her family in Illinois before she and her husband retired to Northport in 2001. She was active in Trinity Church, Lions Club, PEO, small clubs and Big Sisters/Big Brothers.

Also surviving are her children, Paul G. (Stephanie) Rothaug of West Jefferson, Ohio, Tracy (Robert) Vaden of Brighton, and Amy (Benjamin) Maule of Kodiak, Alaska; stepmother Marion Murphy of Atkinson, Ill.; sisters Sally Etz of Chicago and Mary Caine of Hudson, Ohio; brothers John Murphy of Nain, Labrador and James Murphy of Shorewood Ill., and three grandchildren.

Burial will be in Leelanau Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leelanau Conservancy, 105 N. First St., Leland, MI 49654.
