The Zonta Club of Leelanau County is offering a scholarship to serve aboard the Inland Seas Educational’s schooner to an adventurous female student in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade.

As part of the Zonta-sponsored Young Women in Science program, the recipient will spend two days (June 15-16) aboard the schooner Inland Seas to participate in Great Lakes research.

Female students from throughout the state will join scientists aboard the Inland Seas to document water quality and aquatic biology of Suttons Bay and Grand Traverse Bay, and complete their own research projects. They will also aid the crew by sailing and spending a night on the waters.
