Auction of LeNaro Pub set April 14

The former "LeNaro Pub" building in Lake Leelanau – previously the "Key to the County" restaurant – will be auctioned to the highest bidder on Saturday, April 14.
The auction sale will include all the equipment, fixtures, furniture and a Class C liquor license formerly used on the premises.

3,000 utility customers lose power

A late-afternoon lightning strike left 3,000 Consumers Energy customers in Leelanau County without power for nearly 12 hours Sunday night and early Monday morning.

Emergency sirens to be tested Monday

Siren tests will be conducted at fire stations throughout Leelanau County on Monday, April 9, at noon.
From May through September, the siren tests will be conducted on the first Monday of each month at noon.
The sirens are used to warn the public of hazardous weather conditions, such as tornadoes.

Babysitter training session offered

The American Red Cross of Northwest Michigan will conduct a Babysitters Training Course on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay.
