Cora was a friend in high school. I just came across this obituary on the Internet. I remember that she took Latin and enjoyed Roman mythology and classic stories. She also enjoyed movies from the 1940s. She seemed interested in many things. She sometimes lacked confidence, but I thought she was smart. I believe the last time I saw her must have been in the early 1970s. Maybe 1973 or '72. Reading that she had been ill for eleven years really touched me. I started remembering many of our conversations and outings. I remembered her smile and her father teasing her as he drove us to the movies or some other places. I remember walking along the railroad track in the summers and her Dutch Colonial house in Cherry Valley. I had not known that she moved from Illinois to Michigan, but it looks as though she spent many years in a beautiful setting.
