Died April 14, 2007
Traverse City- Irene Alice Kadrovach, 88, life long resident of the Traverse City area, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday April 14, 2007 at her home with her family by her side.
Born March 27, 1919 in Isadore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Josephine (Kabot) Flees. The most memorable year of her childhood was spent on North Manitou Island, where her father worked in the lumber business. She treasured memories of this year for the rest of her life. On May 25, 1940 Irene entered into marriage with Peter Kadrovach, who preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family and her many cherished friendships, especially her children and grandchildren. She expressed her talents through numerous craft projects, most notably her crocheted doilies that literally grace homes across the country. She was a very generous person, sharing hundreds of doilies with family, friends, and her church for craft shows.
Irene was an amazingly strong and determined person, who taught her children “where there is a will there is a way.” She relied heavily on her faith in God for his strength. Irene was a small person who left large foot prints for her children to follow, and will be deeply missed.
Irene is survived by her children; Judy Kadrovach of Traverse City, Peter (Ceil) Kadrovach of Traverse City, Willard J. (Marlene) Kadrovach of Boyne City, Janet M. (Harold) Wildfong of Williamsburg, Jerry (Kitty) Kadrovach of Traverse City, Mary (George) Coyne also of Traverse City; 26 Grandchildren; 40 Great Grandchildren; 5 Sisters-in-Law; Maybelle Flees, Eve Kadrovach, Gladys Watkoske, Irene Morrison, and Francis Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, her parents, three brothers; Joseph (Rose), Ed (Dorthy) and Louis Flees.
Visitation for friends and family will take place Monday, April 16, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. with a vigil service scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Internment will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
