
A young deer that is missing the lower half of its left front leg has been grazing on bird seed and cracked corn in the backyard of an Elmwood Township home. The deer has learned to adapt despite its handicap, though it was likely put through some trying times earlier this month when a spring storm dumped as much as 15 inches of snow and brought high winds to the region for three straight days.
