Kristin Marie Szypka of Detroit and Emil Simon Bunek III of Troy were united in marriage on Feb. 17.

The ceremony was held at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, Ohio, and was followed by a reception at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio.

The maid of honor in the wedding, which had a snowflake theme, was Kelsey Frei. Serving as bridesmaids were Jennifer Drake, Jessica Willinger, Kelly Lagger, Kristy Snider and Julie Swaggerty.

The best man was Ben Rexroat, and the groomsmen were Avery Bunek, Julius Bunek, James Bunek, Aaron Korson and Brian Pasch.

The bride is the daughter of Colleen Phillips of Toledo, and John Szypka of Oregon, Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from University of Detroit Mercy, and is employed as a banking analyst for JP Morgan Chase.

The groom is the son of Julius and Cheryl Bunek of Lake Leelanau. He is a graduate of St. Mary School in Lake Leelanau and University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is employed as an engineer for SSOE, Inc.

The couple resides in Troy.
