Linda Lanham Tegart
A funeral service was to be held today, April 26, at 11 a.m. at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, with visitation one hour prior, for Linda Lanham Tegart who died at Munson Hospice House on April 20. She was 64.She was born on January 22, 1943, in Traverse City, to the late Frederick Lanham and Dottie (Ashmore) Lanham, who survives.
She graduated from Glen Lake High School and Central Michigan University. She was one of the last teachers to serve at the Empire School before students moved to the new facility at Glen Lake Community Schools. She retired from the Glen Lake school system in 1991 after 26 years of teaching. After retiring from teaching she became involved in art and craft shows, exhibiting her handiwork through a business called Whimsies.
Also surviving are her daughters, Susan (Mark) Rutkofske of Port Huron and Amy (Rick) Fernie of San Diego; a son, Richard Brodhagen of San Diego; a brother, Fred (Bunny) Lanham; an aunt, Alice Cheek, and many other relatives.
Burial will be next to her father in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kasson Township. Memorial donations may be made to Munson Hospice House or to the Glen Lake Community Schools Elementary Library for the purchase of childrens’ books.
