The United Way of Northwest Michigan has awarded a $20,000 to Leelanau Counties’ Parenting Community Program.

The program offers a menu of activity options to help in the development and maintenance of maintain thriving and healthy functioning families.

The grant was among 13 awarded earlier this month by the organization’s board of directors. A total of $139,500 was awarded to not-for-profit agencies in Antrim, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.
