It’s kind of tough writing about Glen Lake when we are not there. We have been all over the central states, something we haven’t previously done for some reason. It’s been interesting, but no lakes and pretty flat. We have been on many river boats, but we get very spoiled in our area. The rivers we have explored are muddy and not attractive at all compared to our Glen lakes, Lake Michigan and Crystal River.
We are now in Springfield, Ill., where we have seen everything Lincoln. It is my understanding that the head of our Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Dusty Schultz, was once in charge of the national park here. Quite a difference in the size of the parks – 90,000 acres compared to two or three blocks.
We have toured many houses and parks, from a King’s home to a president’s home (Elvis to Lincoln.) It will be good to get home and get on with the summer.
Go Sox.
