Cleveland Township planners continued work last week on two zoning ordinance amendments that have been under consideration for more than a year.
At its regular monthly meeting May 2, the Cleveland Township Planning Commission reviewed the latest draft of its “wind energy systems” amendment and decided to hold a public hearing on the draft next month.
Commission secretary Brian Price explained that the latest draft had been changed enough since the last public hearing that planners thought it would be appropriate to hold another hearing before recommending the draft for adoption. The hearing will be held at the commission’s next regular meeting, June 6.
Cleveland planners also continued work on a zoning ordinance amendment that will better align the township’s residential districts with concepts spelled out in the township’s master plan, Price said.
At last week’s meeting, commissioners also learned that the regular monthly meeting of the Cleveland Township Board had been postponed for one day because of the election on May 8. The township board meeting was rescheduled for May 9.
