1916-2007

Private services have been held for Erma Ruth Brown of Lake Leelanau and Southbury, Conn., who died May 20 in Connecticut.

She was 90.

She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Alliance, Neb. Her husband of 57 years, Chapman Cleaver Brown, preceded her in death.

She was a 1937 graduate of the University of Nebraska. She enjoyed sewing and took daily walks year round. When in Michigan, she looked forward to her nightly swims in the lake.

She is survived by five children, Davison C. Brown of Stevensville, Dr. Kent B. Brown of Florida, Cynthia J. Howe of Connecticut, Elizabeth A. Huffaker of Tennessee and Tracy G. Brown of Virginia; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
