Conservancy plans three hikes next week

"Wildflowers Along the New Kehl Lake Trail" will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The hike will feature a new trail that Conservancy volunteers and staff created in 2006. Docent Mary Lyons will help hikers identify wildflower species along the trail.

On Wednesday, docent Ann Mason will lead a sunset hike through the Whaleback natural area to view the Manitou islands and Lake Michigan.

The hike begins at 7:30 p.m.

Docent Bobbie Poor will lead a story hour hike to the "story tree" in the Houdek Dunes Natural Area on Thursday, June 14. Poor will share stories about nature and life that inhabits the dunes during the hike, which is for children ages 6-9 accompanied by an adult.

To register, call 256-9665.
