Dr. James A. and Carole Cusick of Lake Leelanau and Bonita Springs, Fla., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 8.

The couple first met at Bosse High School in Evansville, Ind., and were later married in Evansville at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Both are graduates of Indiana University. Carole Cusick is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, and taught elementary school in Indianapolis during the early years of their marriage.

Jim Cusick is a member of Phi Gamma Delta, and he and his fraternity teammates won the famed Little 500 Bike Race in 1956. He practiced medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital until his retirement.

The couple raised four children in Indianapolis and Carmel, Ind., including Jade Cusick of Fairfield, Conn., Dan Cusick of St. Paul, Minn., David Cusick of Hinsdale, Ill., and Kasey Morris of Hinsdale. The couple also has 10 grandchildren.

The Cusicks are dividing their retirement in Lake Leelanau and Bonita Springs.
