The Manitou Music Festival and the Northern Michigan Songwriters in the Round are presenting a songwriters' workshop with Gold Record Award winner Jonathan Edwards, who will also be giving a concert.
The workshop will be held at The Leelanau School in Glen Arbor on Saturday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Topics of discussion will include what a good song is, song idea swap, and small group sessions with Edwards. The workshop is co-hosted by The Leelanau School and the Beach Bards.
Edwards has recorded 13 albums in a 29-year career, including such hits as Shanty and Sunshine, which earned him a gold record in 1971.
The workshop cost is $50, which includes admission to an evening concert by Edwards. The concert begins at 8 p.m., and tickets are $15.
