First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Glen Arbor will sponsor a lecture on Christian Science Thursday, June 14, at 8 p.m. in the Glen Arbor Township Hall.
The lecture, entitled Beyond the Sixth Sense, will be given by John M. Tyler, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship in Boston.
Tyler, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science for 30 years, bases his ideas on the Bible and the writing in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the religion. His remarks will focus on prayer as a spiritual method of healing for various problems, including a health crisis, family conflict, financial difficulties and personal loss.
Tyler is fluent in six languages and has lectured about the power of prayer to promote health and healing throughout the world. The lecture is open to the public, and child care will be provided.
