Large format landscape photographer Jeff Ripple has opened Ripple Effect Studio and Gallery at 10085 W. Front St. in Empire.

The art studio and gallery will be open daily now through the end of September, and by appointment. It features pieces from his series entitled Wild Sleeping Bear, which he captured when he spent nearly five months in the national lakeshore.

Ripple will also unveil an additional four to six pieces from the collection in coming months, and new oil and acrylic paintings inspired by the Leelanau County landscape, most of them painted on location.
