Three Northport High School seniors were each awarded $1,000 scholarships through "Dollars for Scholars," a program sponsored by the Northport Women's Club.

The scholarships are funded each year by the club’s Home Tour, and were awarded at the school’s awards and scholarship night on May 17. The presentation of the awards to the three recipients – Lauren Browning, Stacia Detweiler and Katie Drummond – was made by Pauline Nielsen, vice president of the club. The club’s selection committee, which was headed by Ruth Brown, received many applications.

This year’s Home Tour will be held on Wednesday, July 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and showcase five unique homes in the Northport and Omena areas. In addition, four free Northport Community Arts Center “Flexpasses” will be raffled at one of the homes.
