MSU Extension/4-H will host a children's summer gardening program in July and August.
The program is for students in grades 3-6 and will be taught by Master Gardener volunteers. Assisting MSU Extension/4-H will be the Old Art Building in Leland and the Leland Township Library.
Children will learn about soil and plant science, compost and ecology, wildlife and insects, vegetables and herbs, trees and shrubs, flowers and houseplants, and design and color. Students will also help with garden projects at the Old Art Building.
The program will meet at Leland Public Library eight times, from 1-3 p.m. on each of the following dates: July 11-12, 18-19, 25-26 and Aug. 1-2.
Cost per child is $25 for 4-H members and $35 for non-members.
