Oleson bridge ceremony set at Narrows

The dedication ceremony for the naming of the M-22 bridge over the Glen Lake Narrows in honor of Carl Oleson Jr. will be held tomorrow, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the bridge’s north end.

The Carl Oleson Jr. Memorial Bridge will honor the man who was a longtime supporter of Glen Lake and the former owner of The Sportsmen Shop in Glen Arbor.

Among those who will attend the ceremony are state Rep. David Palsrok (R-Manistee), state Sen. Michelle McManus (R-Lake Leelanau), and Oleson family members and friends.

The event is open to the public, and two signs will be unveiled at the ceremony and placed on both ends of the bridge. The signs are temporary since the bridge is scheduled to be rebuilt next spring.
