A Cleveland Township woman is disappointed after having discovered a potful of flowers removed from her father’s burial plot in the township cemetery.
“Money is not the issue,” said Karen Moir, who was attending a funeral Tuesday at the Cleveland Township cemetery when she discovered the flower pot placed on her father’s grave site for Memorial Day was missing. “I just want other people to be aware of what happen so they don’t have what happened to me happen to them.”
The pot, valued at about $40, measures 12 inches around and has four wires that can be used to hang on a post. The flowers are valued at about $25.
Each year, Moir tends to her father’s grave site to ensure it’s in order when her 85-year-old mother travels north to the county from Florida.
“I guess I’ll have to fill up another pot (before her mother arrives),” Moir said. “I don’t want her to know. It would just kill her.”
