Scholarships to seven county students were awarded last week by the Ed and Irene Fleis Education Fund.

Recipients selected by the Cedar-Maple City Lion’s Club selection committee were Eric Cwengros (Ferris State University); Monica Schmit (Northwestern Michigan College); Andrew Hyde (Western Michigan University); Kelly Kulman (University of Michigan); Jenna Groomes (Grand Valley State University); and Amelia Lautner and Kris Zimmerman (Northwestern Michigan College).

Due to continued growth of the fund, the number of scholarships to be awarded in 2008 will be 10.
