Maria Harper, a Leelanau County resident and member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, will discuss "Indian research" at the June 21 meeting of the Grand Traverse Genealogical Society.

Harper, a longtime genealogist, has provided in-service for the Detroit Indian Education Program, has been a guest speaker at Wayne State University, and appeared on radio and television programs.

The meeting is at 1 p.m. at the Latter Day Saints Church on Veterans Drive in Traverse City.
