A 42-year-old Suttons Bay woman is scheduled to return to the 86th District Court to face charges of truancy for allegedly not ensuring that her four children attend school.
The woman’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the children. She was arraigned in District Court on Friday before Judge John D. Foresman. A pretrial meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 22 and she is free on bond.
According to court documents, between September 2006 and April 2007, the woman allegedly failed to send the four children in her care, ages 6-16 years old, to Suttons Bay Public Schools. The defendant faces one count of truancy for each child.
