Sitting at a table adorned with a red and white checked tablecloth in the Empire United Methodist Church Saturday, Hayden Halshouser of Northville only wanted one thing.

The number of building permits issued by the Leelanau County Building Inspection Department as well as the estimated construction values associated with those permits have fallen for the fourth straight year.
Jessica Scott, a 2003 graduate of Glen Lake High School, graduated cum laude from Kalamazoo College at the June 10 commencement ceremony.
The Northport Womens' Club has announced the five homes that will be part of the annual Home Tour on Wednesday, July 18.
