CHARLOTTE’S WEB by E.B. White is the theme of a quilt made by Eleanore Chamberland of Suttons Bay. The quilt and nine others will be the subject of a silent auction to benefit the Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library beginning Tuesday.
The Friends of the Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library will host a silent auction of hand-made quilts based on favorite children's books in conjunction with a used book sale at the Suttons Bay Art Fair.
Ten small quilts created by local quilters will be on display around the library beginning Tuesday, July 3. Interested buyers may bid on the quilts anytime the library is open for the following two weeks.
The auction will close at the end of the used book sale at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5. Winning bidders will also receive a copy of the children’s book that inspired their quilt. All proceeds will support the library.
The library is located at 416 Front St. next to the Suttons Bay Marina. For more information about the quilts or the auction, call Tina Ulrich at 933-8749, or the library at 271-3512.
