Parade entries are being accepted for the Leland Fourth of July parade slated for 3 p.m. next Wednesday.
Prizes will be awarded in the several categories, including most unique, most humorous, best business entry, best antique automobile, best musical group, best costume (child), best costume (adult), best theme entry, and “best in parade.”
Entries will be judged on workmanship, originality, participation of many hands and reflection of the theme “Let Freedom Ring.”
Here is the schedule for next week’s holiday parade:
• 1 p.m.— Children’s bike decorating is slated on the lawn at the Old Art Building in Leland;
• 2 p.m. — Parade entries marshal in the area near Christmas Tree Corner (Main and Reynolds Streets);
• 3 p.m. — Parade begins.
Following the parade, there will be an awards ceremony at the Village Green.
Organizers are hoping to have most entries assigned numbers prior to the event, so registration is encouraged, particularly for those interested in being considered for an award.
