Want to be more than a bystander at either of the county's Fourth of July parades?
It's not too late to celebrate our country's independence by marching in either parade in which nearly "anything goes."

Leelanau takes part in National Cherry Festival

Leelanau County will make a significant contribution to the National Cherry Festival, which will be celebrated in Traverse City July 7-14.
In addition to hosting events, Leelanau-grown cherries will be available.
There’s also the July 14 fireworks show that caps off the festival with the pyrotechnics display being launched from a barge off Elmwood Township.

Road work to also take vacation over Fourth

Visitors to Leelanau County this week have timed road construction just right.
They should not run into construction-related delays as most projects will be completed Monday, July 1 - a relief to motorists who have grown accustomed this spring and early summer to delays in commutes to Traverse City.
