Rabbi Chava Bahle will lead the worship service at Trinity Church in Northport on Sunday, July 8.
The 10 a.m. service will include her sermon – Darkness Before the Dawn: A Spiritual Approach to Adversity as an Ally – based on Psalm 30 from the day’s liturgy.
Bahle is an ordained rabbi and an ordained maggid, a Jewish inspirational preacher and storyteller. She recently retired as the rabbi of a Traverse City congregation, which she founded 10 years ago.
Her new calling is to travel the community and the country, helping people enjoy and respect spirituality and godliness. She also serves as the director of the Or Tzafon Retreat Center, where she offers day-long and week programs to people of all traditions, and is the rabbi of Makom Shalom synagogue in Chicago.
