Suttons Bay Public Schools, The Art Place and the Traverse Area Community Sailing program will receive nearly $4,400 in grant funds now that the Suttons Bay Bingham Endowment Fund of the Grand Traverse Regional Community made its summer grant cycle recommendations earlier this month.
The Suttons Bay Bingham Endowment fund advisory committee, which is comprised of local, Suttons Bay and Bingham area representatives, made the following grants:
• $3,000 toward enhancements of the Suttons Bay High School computer laboratory;
• $750 toward The Art Place’s purchased of a digital portable projector;
• $630 to Traverse Area Community Sailing for camp scholarships to benefit Suttons Bay/Bingham area youth.
Since 1998, the Suttons Bay Bingham Fund has awarded more than $70,000 in grants to benefit various projects and programs in the Suttons Bay and Bingham area.
The grant focus of the fund is on community projects and programs that benefit non-profit organizations, educational institutions and governmental entities serving Suttons Bay and Bingham townships, and the Village of Suttons Bay. A complete list of grants is available online at www.4good4ever.org.
The fund will be accepting grant applications again during its fall grant cycle, which has an application deadline of Oct. 1. Applications will be available in September and will be accepted at www.gtrcf.org.
Grant applications for funds from the Suttons Bay Bingham Endowment will be available during three grant periods, with application deadline dates of Feb. 1 (winter cycle), June 1 (spring cycle.) and Oct. 1 (fall cycle).
