Northwestern Bank opened a new office in Leland on June 20, and will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, July 20.

Tin Soldier was formerly located.
The storefront office is located in space formerly occupied by The Tin Soldier gift shop at 115 N. Main St. The Leland office offers weekday and Saturday lobby hours, a walk-up ATM, safe deposit boxes and an after-hours depository.
“We already have a number of customers in Leland and other Leelanau County communities.
This office was opened in response to their requests for an additional location,” said John Visser, Northwestern’s vice president for Leelanau County.
The grand opening celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 20 and include free food, beverages and other giveaways.
Northwestern Bank, the largest independent bank in northern Michigan, was chartered in 1955 and has more than $725 million in assets. It has 26 offices in northern Lower Michigan.
