Kasson Township’s representative on the Glen Lake Area District Library board was endorsed last week by the Township Board.
The board voted unanimously July 2 to support the appointment of Mike Litch to replace retiring Tom Davis as the Kasson Township representative on the library board.
Litch had previously served as an alternate on the library board. He will be replaced by the appointment of Bruce Westover as alternate, which also gained Township Board support.
Recommendations for appointments were made by the library board, which includes representatives from the library service area in Kasson, Glen Arbor and Empire townships.
In other business during the monthly meeting, Treasurer Beth Noonan reported that she had contacted property owners whose taxes are paid through their mortgage company to let them know that they may “opt out” of a $25 charge for recycling which will appear on their Dec. 1 tax bills.
