Hawley remains board president

Joan Hawley will continue serving as president of the Glen Lake Board of Education.

At Monday’s organizational meeting, the school board unanimously re-elected Hawley as president. The board also voted Roger Mikowski as vice president; Greg Flees as treasurer, and Adriene Kokowicz as secretary.

Hawley established the following committees and membership assignments Monday night:

• Finance and curriculum committees will convene as a “committee of the whole.”

• Personnel — Hawley, Kokowicz and Flees.

• Collaboration representative — Hawley, with Mikowski as an alternate.

• Buildings and grounds — Flees and Mikowski.

• Parent Advisory Committee — Jeff Smith, with Frank Skrocki as an alternate.

• Foundation representative — Virginia Trago.

Other organizational issued tended to were:

• Designating the Thrun law firm as its legal counsel and Lewis & Knopf as auditors for 2007-08.

• Setting the day, time and place of the monthly meeting as the second Monday of each month, at 7:30 p.m. in the high school media center;

• Designating Jeanne Peacock as the person to post meeting notices and tend to election duties.
