1967 - 2007

A Rosary Service will be prayed today, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m., both at St. Mary’s Parish in Lake Leelanau, for Linda Sue Pattison who died July 3 at her home. She was 40.

She was born Jan. 9, 1967, in Traverse City, the daughter of Joseph and Betty (Nedow) Burda, who survive. In May 1993, in Las Vegas, she married Derek W. Pattison, who survives.

She was a graduate of Leland High School where she played on the girl’s state champion basketball team. She also attended Ferris State University. She volunteered at Suttons Bay Elementary School. An avid Red Wings fan, she especially enjoyed spending time on Leelanau’s beaches.

Also surviving are her four children, Chase Austin, Caylee Alyssa, Tessa Aubrey Pattison and Chelsea Lee Shelton; three brothers, Joseph (Joni), John A. and Jan W. Burda; a sister, Joni L. (Paul) Warner and a special family friend Brian Strickland.

Burial will follow the Mass at Beechwood Cemetery, Leland. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Pattison Children Education Fund, c/o Traverse City State Bank, P.O. Box 665, Suttons Bay, MI 49682 and/or to the charity of one’s choice.
