ENGAGED: KATHLEEN ASHLEY RIX and CHRISTOPHER JOHN PERON

Kathleen Ashley Rix of Traverse City and Christopher John Peron of Elmwood Township have announced their wedding engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Reggie and Anna Rix of Traverse City. She is a graduate of Suttons Bay High School and Central Michigan University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

The future groom is the son of Michael and Lizabeth Peron of San Diego. He is a graduate of Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Ill., and Lake Superior State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fire science. He is employed as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Traverse City.

The couple plans a Sept. 8 wedding at Frog Pond Village in Interlochen.
