An estimated $13,000 was raised at the Glen Lake Woman's Club Art Fair held July 18 in Glen Arbor.
The funds will be used to provide scholarships to Glen Lake graduating seniors next spring. All of the 2006-07 scholarship winners assisted this year by helping the exhibitors in setting up their booths; carrying, pricing and selling “tag sale” items in the Treasures and Trivia area; and making and selling popcorn and bake sale items.
“This is the first year scholarship winners helped out and there was 100 percent participation,” club member Ellen Figura said.
Winners in the annual raffle announced at 3:30 p.m. on fair day were:
• Ann Loveless, framed quilt of birches— won by Libby Bridges of Maple City.
• Jim Ladd framed watercolor of the sand dunes and Lake Michigan — Kat Smith of Maple City.
• Louis Sloger ceramic blue/green vase — Cyndi Bird.
• L. Saile Petoskey stone necklace — Pat Fleis of Cedar.
• Marilyn Mook, blue/white quilt — L. Pezza.
