"Recent Oil and Works on Paper" by Melanie Parke and Richard Kooyman will be shown Aug. 10, 11 and 12 at the Old Art Building in Leland.
Parke and Kooyman will exhibit new oil paintings and works on paper in their 8th annual summer show.
Parke, a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, has exhibited at the Bowery Gallery in New York, Freeport Museum of Art, Midland Center for the Arts and Muskegon Museum of Art. Her paintings are also in the collections of the U.S. Department of Interior.
Parke’s husband Kooyman has won numerous awards, including the Sally Average Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center, The Michigan Governors Award, National Endowment of the Arts Grant and the Michigan Council for the Arts Grant.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a wine and horse d’oeuvres reception on Friday, Aug. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Exhibition hours for both Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11 and 12, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
