Two award-winning Michigan singer-songwriters, Jan Krist and Jim Bizer, will perform at The Leelanau School on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. as part of the Manitou Music Festival.
The Detroit-born Krist is a veteran of the acoustic music scene and has been recognized by Billboard Magazine, Entertainment Weekly magazine, Dirty Linen, Image Journal, among others. She’s received 13 nominations and four Detroit Metro Music Awards. Bizer’s song, We Are All Connected, a 9/11 testament, won the grand prize in the Great American Song Contest.
Tickets for the show are available at Cedar City Market in Cedar, Oryana Food Cooperative in Traverse City, and Lake Street Studios in Glen Arbor. For more information, call the Glen Arbor Art Association at 334-6112. Tickets are $15 in advance and $12 at the door. The venue in case it rains is The Leelanau School.
