Three events within a 5-day span are planned this month by the Leelanau Conservancy.
Docents Jack Schultz and Ann Mason will lead a hike at the Teichner Natural Area in Cleveland Township this Sunday.
The 2 p.m. program will feature a magnificent chestnut tree and the shores of Lime Lake. This area is available for guided walks only.
The Kehl Lake Natural Area will serve as inspiration Tuesday, Aug. 21 during a 10 a.m. morning walk. Nature’s harvest season will serve as the subject of poems to share or those written on the overlook platform along the Kehl Lake trail.
Docent Bobbie Poor will lead the hike through the natural area south of Northport.
She will also host a 10 a.m. family story hour at the Houdek Dunes Natural Area on Thursday, Aug. 23. Children of all ages will learn about “nature’s pantry” as they listen to tales under the “story tree.”
Registration is required for all the events and may be completed by calling 256-9665.
