A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Blessed Kateri Church in Peshawbestown on Saturday at 11 a.m. for Carol Ann Gilbo of Traverse City who died Aug. 12 at Birchwood Nursing Center. She was 48.

Born July 11, 1959, in Kalamazoo, she was the daughter of James and Diane (Jordan) Gilbo of Elmwood Township, who survive.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University. Active in the Multiple Sclerosis Society, she enjoyed volunteer work; especially sharing her time and talents with schoolchildren. She also loved her pet dogs and traveling.

She is also survived by her brother, Robert Gilbo of New York; aunts, uncles and cousins.
