Leelanau Township officials expect developer Daniel W. Ketelaar to submit a new preliminary site plan this month for a $40 million development of the former Timber Shores Resort.

The state has issued a total of 3,300 antlerless deer permits for use within the county, hoping to trim the size of the deer herd to 800 less than last year.

Suttons Bay will host the county for a giant Labor Day celebration, according to plans now being formulated by committees of its Chamber of Commerce.

Plans for expanding facilities for emergency first aid service and water rescue work were discussed by the Leland Volunteer Fire Department at its annual meeting Monday night at the Courthouse.

A committee of year ‘round residents was named Friday night, at the annual meeting of the Glen Lake Association, to supervise for a year control of the water level in Glen Lake.

Northport. Pearl Dame has a new piano. The school house will have a new porch built. The Michigan Telephone Co. placed a new phone last week in the office of Dr. F. Fralick. Kehl Bro’s. have recently received a large cargo of crockery and chinaware, call them and see them.

There will be an excursion to Charlevoix via steamer Columbia Sunday next to see the Illinois and Manitou. The boat will leave Suttons Bay at 7:30 a.m. and will return at 8:30 p.m. Round trip ticket, 75 cents.
