The county Road Commission will close County Road 669 between M-22 and Hlavka Road starting early Monday morning as part of a rebuilding project.
Commission engineer James C. Johnson said there are no homes on the stretch of 669, adding “absolutely no vehicles” will be allowed through once work begins.
“We’re going to be grinding up all of the existing pavement and reshaping the ground underneath, so it’s a complete rebuild,” he said.
The road will be closed for three to four weeks. A detour will be set up on County Road 667. Heavier truck traffic will be routed down 667 to County Road 616, then back up 669 up to Hlavka Road. Lighter weight vehicles may use Hlavka or Ryant Road as a cut-over to 669 as needed.
The Road Commission will be covering costs for improving this part of 669. Earlier this summer, a resurfacing project of 616 from Burdickville Road to 669, and 669 from Burdickville Road to Ryant Road, was funded by a $1.2 million federal transportation grant.
