I just never get used to the abrupt change in activity around here. I know it’s going to happen, but I am never ready. I can only hope that everyone had as good a season as we had.
I hope we see Sue back at the Riverfront soon, feeling well. She had quite an adventure.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Whitfield, who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Quite an accomplishment.

The Glen Lake Woman’s Club will hold its next meeting on Sept. 5 at the Old Settlers Picnic Grounds chapel. The speaker will be veteran chimney sweep and mechanical contractor Don Shapton, The program will be “before you light a match,” which will include safety tips. The Bridge Walk (the other bridge walk) will be held as always on Labor Day starting at noon from the north end of the Narrows’ Carl Olesen Jr. Bridge. I think this year will be bigger than ever. T-shirts are now available Dune Dogs, TNT Video, Dune Wear and Roman Jones.
