St. Mary School in Lake Leelanau is preparing to again provide Growing With God, a program where children ages birth to five can learn about God through prayer, story, song and finger plays.
The theme for each session will coordinate with the liturgical season.
The first classes is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria. There is no registration fee, although a small free-will donation is welcome to help pay for craft materials and snacks.
A story hour will be added to this year’s program, which will be held in the newly renovated St. Mary School Library. The sessions for parents and young children will be held the first Wednesday of each month, beginning Oct. 3.
Tina (Lindley) VanderWulp will be the teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree from Aquinas College in elementary education and reading, and a master’s degree from Western Michigan University in early childhood development. VanderWulp, a mother of two, also has six years of teaching experience.
Further information, including a complete list for dates of program, is available by calling Jean LaCross and 256-9670, ext. 500.

DANU GERACI and Jennifer Lamb, with daughters Sela and Emmerson, respectively, participated in Growing With God last year.
