Quilters from the Suttons Bay Congregational Church in Suttons Bay will host a quilt show on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The show, to be held at the church at 218 West Madison St., Suttons Bay, is titled Sails For Sharing, and is a play on words celebrating the sailing tradition of the area and communicating the charitable focus of the show.
“This quilt show is a wonderful opportunity for the people in our church to use their God-given talents to help meet the needs of others in our community,” the Rev. Robin Long said. “I haven’t seen this kind of excitement around a mission project in some time.”
The show includes quilt displays, a shop featuring quilted goods and quilting supplies, a children’s corner where children will make a paper quilt block to take home, and refreshments.
There is also a raffle for a colorful sailboat themed quilt that has been hand-pieced and quilted by women in the church.
All proceeds from the event will be split between the Leelanau Christian Neighbors Neighborhood Assistance Fund and the Leelanau Laundry Project.
