A Traverse City man was arraigned last week on charges that he allegedly took two shotguns from a home in Elmwood Township and sold them at a pawn shop.
Esteban G. Rivera, 21, of 810 Birch Wood Ave., Traverse City, was arraigned in 86th District Court on two counts of larceny of a firearm, two counts of larceny in a building, and one count of carrying a firearm in the commission of a larceny. Kerr obtained the two guns and confirmed they had been taken from the county. Rivera allegedly received $115 from the pawn shop for the two guns.
If he is found guilty of first, second or fifth charge, Rivera faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and/or a fine of up to $2,500. If he is found guilty of the third or fourth charges, the maximum is up to four years in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
